The Pink One! Super Nutritious and Delicious Smoothie

Beach doesn't come with the smoothie...

This is a short and sweet read! One of my fave smoothie recipes that’s packed with Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. These skin loving ingredients are known to help to minimise irritation, redness and inflammation. Of course a smoothie is not going to fix our skin issues or be a magic solution to any health problems, BUT! they can be a great way to boost our nutrition, are great as an energy source and taste good. So just enjoy it!

The dates give a caramely flavour and richness so if you prefer to reduce the sugars or sweetness just halve the dates or add in a sprinkle of cacao.

The nutrients:

Vitamin A ; the go to skin care antioxidant.

Vitamins C and B6; essential for maintaining the integrity and elasticity of the skin

Protein thanks to the magic little Flax seed;

And, Potassium, Vitamin K and phytonutrients from a handful of strawberries (frozen are fine!)

If you’ve got raspberries and strawberries that’s even better so mix them both in; the raspberries are high in your Omegas which are fab for skin health!

Ingredients:

  • ½ litre of water
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • 1 large or 2 small bananas
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup rasberries
  • Handful of dates (don’t forget to take the stones out!)
  • If you’d like it a little creamier, mix half the water with half oat milk. This is my favourite way to make this.

Blend it all together and enjoy! x
